Further development of Zeitz Chemical and Industrial Park take aim at the completion of existing traditional chemical plants by units and plants of the "White Biotechnology".

Activities are focused on the utilization of renewable primary products for production of chemical compounds and generation of energy.

In this case, the biochemical tool box of nature is used to realize more efficient production processes or syntheses of new substances and/or more efficient ways of energy generation in an industrial scale.

The competence center for industrial treatment of biomass Kompetenzzentrum für industrielle Verwertung von Biomasse GmbH Burgenlandkreis (KIBV GmbH Burgenlandkreis)), which is located within the Zeitz Chemical and Industrial Park, acts in this process as intermediary between the innovation driving businesses and organisations.

The research center Forschungszentrum der Zeitzer Energie-Agentur GmbH aims to implement innovative ideas for renewable energy generation.
